No, they are typically around the same price. Many types of granite and marble are also more expensive than Guava products.
The widths available for our slabs differ for each type of material. Our Quartz products are offered in 2 cm and 3 cm thicknesses, and Rockton slabs are 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, and 2 cm. However, our Terrazzo line is only supplied at 18 mm thick.
Since our products have similar properties to granite and marble, so we can replicate any edge profile that can be done on these other materials. Talk with your fabricator about your edge profile options.
Yes, our surfaces are exceptionally hard and nonporous, which means they have a very low microbial growth rating. They have NSF/ANSI 51 certification from the Public Health and Safety Company, making it safe to use in homes, restaurants, and other places where strict sanitary conditions need to be met.
Guava Stone is very hard and impermeable, but it still needs to be treated with care. If you spill something on the surface, wipe it off as soon as possible to avoid any staining. See our Care and Maintenance PDF below for more details.
Our slabs are made of 90-93% quartz We do not "dilute" our raw material with calcium carbonate (marble), which makes the product cheaper but also more susceptible to scratches and stains.
